NDVI Images

The purpose of the prototype demonstration is to unveil a working prototype of the desired design. To demonstrate a current, functioning prototype of the NDVI imager, photos needed to be taken by the imager and demonstrate a successful calculation of NDVI. To do this, the design team took the unit outside, took photos of live leaves, dead leaves, grass, and cement. These images were then transferred to the "ground station" computer and processed through the MATLAB code on the computer. These images provided an NDVI image in which plant health could be gauged by the viewer. A few images from this process are shown below.

Along with demonstrating the camera system, the power board was also shown. This board was required to provide a steady +5 volts and 500 milliamps to the microcontroller contained in the unit. The basic board layout can be seen below.
